Intro to Roma

The first week was busy and amazing, a lot to process in a short period. From the history and architecture to the museums, food and events, I can't wait to see what the next 7 weeks brings.

The significant cultural differences have been challenging but fun. Being navigationally challenged combined with my limited comprehension of the Italian language has presented some interesting interactions and detours.

The weather has been co-operative and allowed us to do some cool walking tours and streetscape and perspective sketching. We also toured and photographed our assigned piazzas and began initial analysis of our piazzas for studio. Each one has its own distinct flavor and dynamic.

In addition to all of the amazing sites and architecture of Rome, I have also been lucky enough to experience Pentecost at the Pantheon, Giro d'Italia and a dance perfomance in Trastevere.
