L'UOMO DEL LIMONE

The fieldtrip to the coast was completely astounding; we got to experience so many different towns in 4 days “Paestum, Amalfi, Atrani, Ravello, Capri and Positano.” I think these towns were incredible architectural but the thing that I liked the most was the people that live in them.  I got to talk to some locals, and they completely altered my perception on Italians.  People were so nice that a few times we didn’t know how to react to their gestures.  At one point we were being feed free food, yet we were so nervous that they were going to charge us for it.  Their intention all along was to create a wonderful experience for us as visitors.

On our way to Ravelo, which was supposed to be a 45 minute hike turned out to be a 2 hour hike.  Although one of our longest adventures, it turned out to be one of the most enjoyable so far on this trip.  Good memories were accumulated along the way involving new friends.  Along the hike we were admiring all the lemon gardens when we were invited into take a closer look.  The generous little old Italian man (no taller than me) allowed us to wonder through his lemon patch.  He didn’t speak English but still was a delight to have him try to talk about his lemons in Italian.  We walked away with a fresh picked lemon as a souvenir.
