Basilica di San Clemente was very nice. It was an experience to step back in history as one stepped down to the lower buildings stacked on top of each other. It was nice to experience a progressively cooler temperature.
The military parade was nice, I had a front row spot by the Campidoglio, where I stood under the humid sun for four hours, watching the 10,000 soldiers march by. I was right under the Altare della Patria when the Frecce Tricolori flew by all of a sudden, surprising me.Ostia Antica was also very nice, especially in the shade! The Mitraeum was my favorite spot in Ostia and I did some research about it online. it was nice to walk among the ruins, feel the cool breeze from the Mediterranean, and smell the aroma of wild herbs.
