This week has been all about getting settled in Rome, I am finally starting to get the hang of things around here. My two favorite places that we have visited this week were the Roman Forum this was interesting because of the history behind it, I am a history minor and love to learn about some of the oldest civilizations and this being such an old complex in Rome, and anywhere around intrigues me even more to learn about it, and not just learn about it but get that chance to actually see it, walk on the stones that so many famous people and emperors have stood and lived just astonishes me even more. The early Christian Rome tours was also one of my favorite things to learn this week. Mainly the San Clemente Church because of the history that has gone along behind it, the fact that it has gone through 3 different stages and levels. It has gotten sacked by vandals and even rebuilt. After walking to the very level and seeing how old that place truly is, and what it has been through is what astonishes me the most. The next church that I found was amazing was Santo Stefano Rotondo because of its portraits on the wall and history behind that church. On the wall of the church was martyring and seeing that just makes you realize how important religion and faith is in Rome, and not just here but everyone. I may not be very religious but it makes me respect it and understand that so much more.
