Everyone has arrived safely, and we're ready to begin the Rome Program for its third year. We did the annual (dis)orientation tour this morning - about 3.5 hours of random walking and sightseeing throughout the center of Rome. The weather was very warm, but the breeze was nice on the Campidoglio as we wrapped things up with the students trying to identify the domes along the skyline. Everyone seems to be getting settled in and figuring out the neighborhood - classes start tomorrow!

Having read all of the postings,I find myself almost expeiencing the same feelings as all of the students. All are very well written. What strikes me the most is the creative delivery. But then, in thinking about it, it shouldn't be such a surprise. As parents, we sometimes forget about the process that got everyone to this point in Rome. It's truly amazing when you think back to their first word, our first conversations, and finally when we realize that maybe our own intellegence has been surpassed, with the fast approaching experience of time spent to gain the wisdom that goes with it. Thank you! Thanks to all other faculty as well for these wonderful things we leave behind
