Its the night before our flight and our first time to Rome-the Eternal City! The city of Caesars and Popes, of Bernini and Vasari, of Dan Brown and Rick Steves (to Matt's disappointment, or even that they are in the same listing!). The rainy Seattle days that have been awaiting my departure left Travis, Mike and I with one last cold front before we face the heat waves and cheap broken down fans. Its interesting to ponder what the city will be like out of our Trastevere apartment or by the Tiber at night, and then to compare it to the real deal in just a few hours. How my perspective will change... but till then my allusions are all i have.
In just two long flights, a decade old dream will become a reality...
