Roma- first week

We have been here close to a week, but it feels like so much longer. Already we are learning to get around, getting comfortable with the city, and learning a few words of Italian here and there. This city is mind boggling. There is never enough time (or energy!) to see and do everything you want to. I love hanging out in a piazza at night and just watching the people who are there and the street performers who come to each one consistently almost every night. There are these amazing break dancers, for example, in Santa Maria in Trastevere who are my favorite street performers so far. I am starting to figure out where small shops are that are cheap and amazing. The pastries here are so good! A cafe
latte and a corneta in the morning are a great way to start the day. The fruit markets are so fresh, and extremely cheap. I am really starting to appreciate how much sketching here can help you develop your skills, and am already feeling more confident about sketching here. I'm looking forward to getting to know the city more, and finding out as much as I can about this amazing place :)
