Thanks in part to Matt Boker I have been submersed in an Italian sub-culture of students studying abroad. These students come from all corners of the world making the political and social views diversely interesting. The apartment we are stating at consists of an American (Jesse), Dinda who is From Indonesia, and Christine who is from Taiwan. These girls mostly have friends that are from the eastern part of the globe and due to there fashion design majors are rather close. We were invited to Anamika’s flat the first evening we were here, and the get together was an interesting international mix. The Room was represented by the American crew, a couple of girls from Sweden, Anamika who’s from India, Dinda and Christine, Annika from Brazil, our two friends from Naples, and another girl from japan who’s name is to complicated to remember. The room throughout the night was full of laughter, and great conversation. I attribute this to copious amounts of alcohol, music, and American drinking games. Though, coming from extremely different parts of the world we all had the college kid mentality in common. It is incredible to have met people from outside my little box, some are not in favor of the Americans and I take responsibility to change the worlds perception one person at a time.
