The fourth of July on Ponte Vecchio. I'll always remember it. After a long day of touring the second half of Florence, Brittney and I decided to check out the famous bridge for sunset before heading back to my buddy Jesse's apartment to join him and Travis for appertivos.
In the middle of the bridge is a piazza-like space where a street musician had set up shop and was wooing the crowds. the sun was setting over our backs as he played "over the rainbow/what a wonderful world" and "don't worry, be happy", among others. Everyone sang along and more were added to his crowds. We people watched- toddlers and babies, dogs, couples, old people, young people. It was beautiful. In an international setting it made me feel more of a global citizen than an American. There were beautiful moments everywhere.
It was a happy Fourth.
