"Back to So-Called Reality"

Three days in London…eight weeks in Rome…five days in Norway…one sleepless night in the London airport.

When broken down into this simple timeframe it seems my summer abroad experience was quite short. However when talking with friends and family about our program, countless memories and stories flood my mind and I find myself at a loss of where to begin and how to retell all that we learned.

It has been a week now since arriving back to the states and with each day the memories of Rome slip into my thoughts…some of them get shared while others remain held within as a smile soon follows...

I realize this was much more than just eight weeks of study!

TRAVELS...MEMORIES...SEEING...SKETCHING...LEARNING

It was a time to find independence in a new country...to see and live a new culture...speak a beautiful language...meet new friends...walk amongst some of the greatest architecture in the world...form friendships with faculty...sketch urban spaces while feeling that pride of our work as we catch the eye of a passerby...but also it was a time to truly get to know each other and see how a summer could bring us closer than any semester previous.
I believe that everyone was impacted in some way by this program but I’m most curious to see how it will influence us all in the future. The eight weeks has come and gone…it’s been over a week since we were there BUT the question remains...

“When are we all going back???”
Thanks for the memories...can't wait to see everyone back in Moscow!!!
Take care.
